Now that Battlefield REDSEC is out you might be wondering how getting custom loadout weapons in the Battle Royale mode works. Well, the good news is we have you covered today with this handy guide on how Loadouts are setup and obtained in-game.
Battlefield REDSEC is a free-2-play Battle Royale experience within the Battlefield 6 ecosystem. It shares many similarities with its direct competitor, Call of Duty: Warzone. This includes the weapon customisation option of Loadouts. You can pre-select your favourite weapons and builds before entering a match and collect them via a few different ways while playing.

Battlefield REDSEC Weapon Setup
The first thing you'll need to do is set up a weapon(s) that you want to be able to use in-game. Click on the 'Loadout' tab in the games menu and choose which ever weapon you'd like to use. Then apply which ever attachments you want to the weapon.
If you are unsure how to build your weapon loadout there are plenty of third-party sites such as Battlefield Meta or Battlefinity that offer excellent builds for every weapon in the game.

Now, here is the important part, once you've chosen your weapon and applied the attachments that you desire, you'll need to hit the 'Favourite' button in the bottom left corner of the weapon screen. This will add your weapon to your favourite list, which is the selection of weapons you can access in-game.
Battlefield REDSEC Loadout Drops

There are two main ways in which the player can obtain their personalised Weapon Loadouts in Battlefield REDSEC. Either via the Global Event Drops or as a Mission Reward.
Global Event Drops
These are random airdrops that deliver your favourited loadout weapons directly to the map.
Monitor the in-game map or look out for notifications for a 'Global Event' announcement, they will occur randomly throughout matches.
Once the drop lands, its location becomes visible to all squads - so, head over there quickly and safely.
Interact with the drop crate (hold the interact button) to claim your custom weapon.
Tip: These events create high-risk hotspots, so make sure you go as a squad for cover and expect PvP fights. Drops are first-come, first-served, and timing is random to keep things dynamic.
Mission Rewards
Complete in-game missions (objectives like capturing points or eliminating enemy targets) that specifically reward a custom loadout.
Check the mission board or HUD for available objectives—prioritize harder ones, as they more often include loadout rewards.
Coordinate with your squad to complete the mission (e.g., hold a position or destroy vehicles).
Upon success, the reward deploys as a drop nearby; interact to equip your favourited weapon.
Tips: Missions require teamwork and can be squad-exclusive, so communication is key. Easier missions might not offer loadouts, so aim for high-reward challenges to maximize your chances.
For pre-match prep, always set your favourites in the loadout menu before queuing. If you're new, experiment with meta loadouts like the top assault rifles for versatility. If the drop feels too RNG-heavy, focus on scavenging base weapons early and upgrading via weapon kits found on the map.
