What Will and Won't Carry Forward from Black Ops 6 to Black Ops 7

Updated: 13 hours ago

What Will and Won't 'Carry Forward' from Black Ops 6 to Black Ops 7

Today we are breaking down everything that will and won't carry forward from Black Ops 6 to Black Ops 7 when the next Call of Duty title launches in mid-November. Most of the content unlocked or purchased with your hard earned money will carry forward, but there are some exceptions.

This isn't the first time we've come into contact with the Carry Forward system in a Call of Duty game. It was first introduced during the Modern Warfare II era as Modern Warfare III released. It allowed players to use the content they'd purchased or earned via in-game challenges in MWII in MWIII. It returns to bridge the gap between Black Ops 6 and 7.

What is Carry Forward?

Carry Forward is a system that allows select content such as weapons, Operators, and cosmetic items from a previous Call of Duty title to transfer into the next. It is designed to preserve your loadouts and personalisation across connected experiences.

Call of Duty: Black Ops 7 will feature the ability to utilize a wide variety of content from Call of Duty: Black Ops 6. This mostly begins a few weeks after launch, at the start of Season 1. We're expecting to hear a bit more about this closer to launch but here is what we know so far.

What Will or Won't Carry Forward?

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 XP Tokens and GobbleGums will Carry Forward at the launch of Call of Duty: Black Ops 7. (Edit) Black Ops 6 Weapons, Operators, and Operator Skins will no longer Carry Forward after an update by Call of Duty on August 26.

  • Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content unavailable in Black Ops 7 will not carry forward.

  • Equipment and Scorestreak Skins for content updated for Black Ops 7 (for example, a Scorestreak that performs similarly, but has a different look and feel in BO7 compared to BO6) will not carry forward.

  • Black Ops 6 Weapon Camos will not be transferable to Black Ops 7 weapons, but still usable on Black Ops 6 weapons.

Warzone Carry Forward Information

Call of Duty: Warzone integration will also begin at Season 1. All current content, including Operators, Weapons, and Weapon Blueprints from Modern Warfare II, Modern Warfare III, and Black Ops 6 will Carry Forward, again with some caveats.

  • Weapons will continue to be tuned for Call of Duty: Warzone.

  • Call of Duty: Warzone players should expect a Rank Reset at Season 1, with your progression synchronized to Black Ops 7’s Progression Systems.

As we stated earlier in the article, more information with regards to Carry Forward is expected sometime between now and launch. Call of Duty: NEXT will take place on September 30 so we may hear more about it then, if not the game is expected to release on November 14, we will surely hear something before then.
