Warzone Rebirth Island Biometric Scanner Explained

| GNG News COD | Published: March 30, 2024 |

Rebirth Island is returning to Call of Duty: Warzone in Season 3 on April 3. It will launch with features new and old. One such feature is the Biometric Scanner. But, what is it, what does it do, and how does it work?

In short, Biometric Scanners will give you an overview of how you are doing in the match with your stats, operator name, clan tag, and access level.

Biometric Scanner

A total of 10 Biometric Scanner terminals can be found dotted around Rebirth Island that include full biometric scanning capabilities. Once per match you can approach one of these terminals and quickly check your statistics.

Keycard

When you do this you are given a Keycard which is stored in your backpack, this takes up a slot in your inventory. Be warned this Keycard can be dropped or looted by other players.

Obtaining such a Keycard will give you access to a special menu at the Buy-Stations for the duration of the match. There are 6 different rarities of Keycard to collect.

  • Bronze (common)

  • Silver (relatively common)

  • Gold (uncommon)

  • Platinum (rare)

  • Polyatomic (very rare)

  • Orion (incredibly rare)

Which rarity of Keycard you receive is based on chance but you can increase the odds of obtaining a higher rarity by having squadmates close by during a scan or if you repeat the scanning process in the next few days.

Buy Station Access & In-Game Rewards

Once you have gained a Keycard through the Biometric Scanner or from a defeated enemy, bring it to a Buy Station and you will have access to a new menu, based the rarity of the Keycard you are holding.

What you can expect to find the special Buy Station menus will depend on how rare your Keycard is. Here are some examples:

  • Bronze: Random ammunition, Cash ($), Armor Plates, Lethals, and Tacticals.

  • Silver: Random ammunition, Cash ($$), Armor Plates, Lethals, Tacticals, Perk Package.

  • Gold: Random ammunition, Cash ($$$), Armor Plates, Lethals, Tacticals, Perk Package, Plate Carrier, Field Upgrade.

  • Platinum: Random ammunition, Cash ($$$$), Armor Plates, Lethals, Tacticals, Perk Package, Plate Carrier, Field Upgrade, Killstreak.

  • Polyatomic: [[REDACTED]] free equipment selects at the Buy Station, [[REDACTED]] Weapon.

  • Orion: [[REDACTED]] free equipment selects at the Buy Station, [[REDACTED]] Weapons, additional [[REDACTED]].

Other Rewards

Returning to a Biometric Scanner on subsequent but nonconsecutive visits will unlock a variety of additional assets. This includes a camouflage for armaments and communications deemed "most secret".

When can you access Biometric Scanners?

Biometric Scanners will be available in Rebirth Island matches from April 3 when Season 3 launches. They will not be available on any other Warzone or Resurgence map as it stands but that may change in the future.
