Ubisoft has been quietly working on a new IP called Codename 'Project U'. The upcoming title has moved one step closer to launch by entering a new phase of playtesting according to leaked information.

Project U is reportedly a huge PvE experience where up-to 40 players (10 teams of 4) fighting against machines that are attempting to turn all living life into a machine. Players must fight their way through hordes of machines to reach the centre of the map.

Codename "Project U" is a new kind of session-based cooperative shooter, in which players unite in massive battles against overwhelming legions of machines.

There are currently 6 known playable characters in Project U. Summer, Tau, Z-Rex, Swei, and Gallowglass.

Reportedly, there are 2 sections to this large open-world map that are surrounded by huge walls. The outer wall gates will open after 15 minutes of game time, and the inner wall gates will open after 25 minutes with each wall having an increasingly difficult level of enemies.

Once players have reached the centre of the map they will need to battle the end-game boss, Pyraguard, which is said to be a giant pyramid-like boss that packs different weapons and machines.
