| GNG Gaming News | Published: January 13, 2024 |

Titan Forge Games has officially announced SMITE 2 via x/Twitter, along with a reveal trailer. The trailer showcases pre-alpha gameplay footage of the upcoming sequel to the popular MOBA game.

SMITE 2 will utilize the powerful Unreal Engine 5 technology in its creation. It'll release on PC's Steam and Epic Games Store, as well as PlayStation 5 and the Xbox Series X.

There is no confirmed release date for SMITE 2 but the developers have stated they will announce a Close Alpha test in Spring 2024, so we won't have to wait long for that.

Some currencies and skins from SMITE will carry forward into SMITE 2 so players can expect to keep the some of the items they have earned over the past decade into the new version of the third-person MOBA.

It is unclear if SMITE 2 will completely replace SMITE upon release as we have seen with other sequels recently, namely Overwatch 2.

Developers Titan Forge Games also shared an 'SMITE 2 - Official Announcement Keynote' video that goes into further detail and behind-the-scenes looks at the game.
