It has been over 10 years since Grand Theft Auto V released world wide on September 17, 2013. Although fans have had plenty of content to sink their teeth into in GTA Online many have been patiently waiting for the next iteration in the franchise. The wait seems to really be over.
Speculation has been growing in recent weeks that Rockstar Games, the company behind the popular GTA franchise, might be ready to make an announcement regarding their next game, and they did.
On Wednesday November 8, 2023 Rockstar shared a post on their social media platforms to announce that they are celebrating their 25th anniversary next month and a trailer for Grand Theft Auto 6 would release.
The exact date that Rockstar Games was founded is unknown but they did say that the trailer would release in early December meaning we won't have to wait long to see it.
Much of the details about GTA VI has been kept under-wraps but rumors suggest we will return to Vice City and the main character will be a female lead for the first time in the franchises history. It is reportedly costing Rockstar Games between $1 - $2 Billion to make but pre-order sales will likely cover this expense alone if GTA 5 is anything to go by.
GTA 5 is the second biggest selling game of all time, falling behind the powerhouse that is Minecraft. With an ever growing following plus its original fan base, Grand Theft Auto 6 could be the biggest game of all time.
