CALL OF DUTY 2023 WILL HAVE FULL PREMIUM TITLE RELEASE AFTER ALL

Last year it was reported that 2023 wouldn't see a Call of Duty title release for the first time in decades. With Activision instead releasing an 'expansion' for Modern Warfare II. that seems to have changed.

For over a year now rumors have been circulating that there will not be a Call of Duty game released in 2023, instead an 'expansion' to Modern Warfare II would be launched that would essentially cost the same amount of money. Recent reports by Call of Duty insiders suggests that things might have change internally and the focus is shifting towards releasing a new title after all.


It seems that the originally planned 'expansion' is being expanded into a full game connected to the Modern Warfare universe. What that actually means is still a mystery. It could be Modern Warfare III or a spin-off game for one of the characters, such as the insanely popular Ghost.

What has been leaked so far? Reportedly a beta weekend, Campaign Early Access and the Release Date has been leaked online.

  • Beta Weekend 1 (PS4/PS5): October 6-10, 2023

  • Beta Weekend 2 (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S, PC): October 12-16, 2023

  • Campaign Early Access (PS4/PS5) : November 2, 2023

  • Release Date (PS4/PS5/Xbox One/Xbox Series X|S/PC): November 10, 2023


Development of Call of Duty 2023 is being led by Sledgehammer Games, the team behind Advanced Warfare, World War II and most recently Call of Duty: Vanguard, a title that wasn't received all to well by players. It was expected that Modern Warfare II would receive 2 years of content until Treyarch were ready to release their next title which is now scheduled for 2024.


It is important to remember that these are leaks and even if it is true it is subject to change. We are about 8 months away from the alleged Call of Duty 2023 title releasing, a lot can and will change in that time.
